Mr. Penny is often on his way out the door before he eats breakfast, and we all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I recently bought some protein bars on sale, with a coupon, and he said he’d take those to eat in the car for breakfast if I kept them on hand. Without the sale and coupon, they’re more than I’m willing to spend, though, and have a lot of mystery ingredients that I’d like to avoid.
Here’s where you come in! I want your best recipe for a portable, flavorful, nutritious breakfast that doesn’t need to be warmed up but can be grabbed on the go and eaten while driving. I’d like it to have a whole grain, some kind of protein, and if you can squeeze it in, maybe dried fruit, nuts, or some other nutritional bonus. Low sugar is a plus.
